Grandparents visit

While our parents were here for Damon's baptism we did a lot of fun things.

Walk to the library:
 Checking out the Lego display

Jedi fighting in the back yard.
Dad checking out the map of the area.
Everyone took a turn feeding the girls, it was a nice break.
Doug and I got to go on a date, dinner and movie.  We haven't done that in years.  We went and saw Iron Man 3 and had dinner at the Olive Garden - using a gift card.  We are grateful for grandparents who will babysit so we can have some alone time.   Grandma's gave the girls baths to get ready for church the next day.
A walk along a nearby reservoir, it was very hot!
 Two at a time!
On monday we went to the Denver Zoo, it was a fun adventure.  Chris loved his map, grandpa was of course willing to help him read it.

 Tyler in the Tuk Tuk.
Monday night was T-ball practice.  I got to stay home with the girls :)

Thanks for all the fun times, so nice to have family come and visit us and to make memories with the grandparents.

Summer Fun

Here are just a few pictures of what we've done so far this summer:
Jenna started pulling up and standing during the first week of June.
Chris sticking all the bats down the back of his shirt ? whatever

Playing catch with Tyler, he is in T-ball right now and doing pretty well.  All of the kids are pretty un-coordinated
so it is pretty funny to watch.
Peek - a -
Boo!
We went to a really cool park in Loveland with some ward friends.  They have this sand area that is under a very large pavilion so it is always shady there and much cooler. There is also a splash area and regular playground too.  There is access to the river so older kids can float down.

The girls were very good and didn't roam too much and only ate a few pieces of bark.

Damon's baptism

We were very excited to have Damon be baptized on June 1, 2013.  He was excited and nervous, but everything went smoothly.  We were happy that both grandparents could come and be with Damon on his special day.

This was a fun one with Grandma Petersen
It was nice to just have our small group, Damon was the only one getting baptized that day.  So it was just our immediate family, our parents, the Bishop, and Bro. Ahlstom who is the ward mission leader, and Damon's primary teacher.  My mom and Doug's dad gave the talks, they were short and meaningful -thanks for being there everyone.
Congratulations Damon - we are so proud of you!

Damon's birthday

Wow, Damon is 8 years old, crazy.  Damon is such a good boy.  He wants to do what is right and is a very good helper around the house.  He is getting old enough that is 'help' is actually helpful, which is nice.  He usually plays with one of the girls at night while I am feeding the other.  Another example is when we were on a bike ride he wanted to walk instead but was sad and keep riding his bike.  We asked him why he was sad and he said he didn't want to make us carry or walk his bike because he wanted to keep the commandment and honor his parents, such a sweet boy.  We love you Damon!

This year was a Skylander's Giants event.  Tyler got the Wii game for his birthday - well it was for both of them, now Damon got some new figures for it.
 Lego's of course.

Damon got the AAT Lego set from us and 2 smaller sets from grandparents.  Damon was nice and let Tyler build the big one, then they built a big droid battle scene.

Memorial Weekend

Over Memorial day weekend we drove to Boulder to go see a waterfall up the canyon near there.  Tyler was getting car sick so we stopped to check out the river.

The waterfall turned out to only be 1/2 mile further up the road, but then we discovered it was closed due to high water levels - bummer.  So we will have to go back sometime.
Boulder seemed like a nice area, we stopped at a park for lunch - it was a hot day.
