First Hair cut

I was waiting to cut Christopher's hair until after his pictures and the blessing - so he would look like a baby - because now he looks a little older. I just trimmed around his ears and the back of his neck. It still was quite a bit of hair. I do think he looks better now.

Baby Blessing

We blessing Christopher D. Petersen on February 21, 2010 in my parents' ward in Smithfield. We had a nice luncheon after with all the family. Christopher was very good and slept through all of sacrament meeting and the lunch - so I could eat. Then we took some pictures. It was a nice event.

JC Penny Pictures

I don't know how well these will look, since they are a lower quality, but this is what we got from Christopher at JC Penny. I think they turned out pretty good, and we even got one smile. After that he wasn't too happy.

Smiles

Well, Christopher is trying to smile when he feels like it. We don't get very many, but he's sure cute when he does. He's still not sure what to think of his bath. I weighed him at the Dr and he is now 12 lbs 11 oz (that was with clothes on) - and he is 6 1/2 weeks old. So I'd say he is growing :)

More than Meets the Eye

We've got a couple of Transformers at our house. That is all Damon and Tyler talk about and act out. We've made a Bumble Bee car out of a box and they take turns 'transforming.' All of our Hot Wheels cars are now Transformers and the boys race and crash them around and fight the bad guys, lead by Megatron. Doug has looked on You Tube and let them watch some of the old Transformer Cartoons, so that's the latest phase that we're going through right now.

Sick

By the way, the boys are sick again. Damon started last Sat/Sun and Tyler now started his yesterday (wednesday). So let's just hope Christopher stays healthy. Just colds, but they have had fevers too. oh well, that's life.

Surprise

Tuesday afternoon I answered the door to find a giant gift basket for us. It was quite a fun surprise. It was from Halliburton (one benefit of working for a large company I guess). Damon and Tyler thought it was pretty neat and wanted to open and eat just about everything. I let them choose one thing each to have a little treat. Damon choose the chocolate pretzels and Tyler choose the 100 Grand candy bars. Thanks Halliburton!

1 month old

Well, Christopher is 1 month old today, he is slowly getting on a more normal schedule. Some days are better than others though. He's getting close to smiling - the ones we get are still more on accident than from a reaction to us.

Here are a few other pictures: During some of our recent snow falls the boys have had fun being "snowplows" as they help me shovel the driveway. They have their own little red shovels. -sorry it's dark, we went out at night.

2 week check up

Christopher had his 2 week check up yesterday (it was actually 2 weeks and 4 days) but the doctors office was closed on Monday due to MLK day. Anyway, Christopher is growing well. He weighs 9 lbs 7 oz. now and has grown 1/2 inch. He's slowly becoming more awake in the day and is eating twice during most nights. So that's our update.

My Three Sons

My friend reminded me of something that I had wanted to do anyway: compare baby pictures. So here are some shots of all three.

Here's Christopher again:
9 days old
12 days old
Tyler at 9 days
Tyler at 3 1/2 weeks
Damon at 2 weeks
Damon at 2 months
You can see that Christopher has way more hair, but he still has a newborn look, the boys looked different in a month or two.

Anyway, fun to compare.

Newborn pictures

Well, I wanted some newborn pictures of Christopher taken, but I really didn't want to go to walmart and I don't know any friends that take pictures (yet) - so Doug and I tried our best to take them. They're not the best, but I'll go to JCPenny's in a month or so when we go up to Logan and get some more taken then. Which one is your favorite?

More pictures

You're getting more baby pictures, but he's looking better everyday - less newborn look. We think he's pretty handsome.

I had to throw this one in. Tyler has rediscovered his love of basketball - mostly because grandpa has been so good to play with him. He of course had to take his ball to nap with him today.

The Arrival of Christopher

Well, he's finally here. The weekend was full of waiting and wanting baby to come. I went to church on Sunday and everyone's saying things like "you're still pregnant." It's mostly my fault since last week I told everyone that I hoped I wouldn't be there. Anyway, so here's the breakdown of the delivery:

I had some contractions during the night and woke up around 5:30 having some as well. This didn't get me too excited since the same thing had happened the previous 2 mornings. However when I got up and started getting ready for the day these ones didn't go away and they stayed pretty strong. So around 7:30 we called our wonderful neighbor to come over and we went over the details for the boys. (And to make a funny story I cut up some pork chops that I had bought and put them in the freezer, I knew I should have done it earlier.)

We got all settled in the hospital by 8:30 and I measured a 6/7. My contractions weren't too bad at this point and I said I wanted to go natural. As we progressed my contractions stayed too far apart to get things going like we wanted so at 10:30 I was at a 8 and the Dr. came in and broke my water. This helped a bit, but we really were done waiting for this baby and by the time 12:30 rolled around I wanted some more help, so they gave me some pitosin. This helped bring the contractions closer together and get stonger. So around 1:30 we started pushing and Christopher arrived at 1:58 pm, weighing 8 lbs 10 oz and measuring 21 inches in length.

I did make it going natural, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The last hour was defiantly tiring and painful, but doable. We're both doing well now. Christopher had to have some help with his glucose levels like the boys, but we were able to come home just 24 hours after delivery. It's good to be home.

Damon had just woken up from a nap (which he never takes anymore) when I got home and wanted nothing to do with the baby. But after he woke up he didn't want to leave him and offered to give Christopher his blanket to help keep him warm. Tyler asks to hold him, but is a little bit rough, we'll have to work on being soft.

We've almost made it through the first night. He slept from 9:30 pm to 1 am, after being fed was then up until 3. I fed him again at 3 and now is wimpering on and off, but still sleeping at 6 am. Oh boy, the joys of newborns. My parents are coming tomorrow - wait today:) It will be good to have some help and have someone to show off our cute baby to.

Well, if you made it through my journal entry above congrats - now here are some pics so far of the newest member of our family.

Sunday- the day before the delivery. I figured I should have one picture to document my big belly.
Here he is!
I forget how purple they are when they come out.
Already found his fists, he likes to suck - his binky, bottle, or me. He's already a better eater than Tyler, but he wants instant food, so I've been giving a sip from a bottle to get started until my milk comes in.
The proud father
After his first bath - his hair was kind of curly when wet.

lots of hair
Getting ready to go home.
Kisses from Tyler
My four boys, I'm really outnumbered now.
