Birthday Party

Damon and Tyler got back from a Father's and Son's camping trip to see their birthday presents displayed. They were excited and liked their cakes. I had fun making them the day before and was grateful that I had the house to myself to get them done. Damon got a bike and Tyler a scooter that they both were excited about. And of course they both got some Transformers. Damon got an Optimus Prime that is like the original and Tyler got the McDonald's set of Transformers. They also got some clothes and some smaller Transformers too. We "transformed and rolled out" all day.
Christopher was just hanging out.

We had a great birthday party for Damon and Tyler that afternoon. The weather could have cooperated more, but we managed inside. We had 12 friends come along with 3 moms, plus the five in our family - our house was full. The kids just had fun playing with our toys and being kids. Then we played a bean bag game and bingo. Then we opened presents and had cake and ice cream. We have some great families in our ward, I'm so glad that Damon and Tyler have good friends to play with. Thanks everyone who came!
I'm glad we have a big table
Off they go

We had a nice rainbow later in the day. Just ignore our lovely view of Cal-Ranch's back side.

Christopher Update

Well, Chris had his 4 month check up today (he really is 4 months and 1 week). And he is growing well. He weighs 18 1/2 pounds (96th %) and is 26 1/4 inches long (90th %). So yes I think I can be justified when I say that my arms are tired after carrying him around for awhile.

Damon weighed 17 1/2 and Tyler weighed 18 lbs 3 oz, so Christopher has passed them both. Guess we better give him some more exercises to do :)

Chris looks so much like Damon, I tried to find some pictures to compare, what do you think:
Just give Damon a little more hair, but their faces are very similar. The pictures aren't the best, but we can see the resemblance in their "looks." Damon then Chris:

I just had to add this, Damon is cute to sit and sing and talk to Christopher.
These others are just for fun:
The boys were having more fun with the new saucer than Chris was.

NBA Playoffs

So we haven't watched a Jazz game all year (a first for Doug), so we decided to upgrade our cable for a while so we could watch the playoffs. I can tell that Doug has missed it. Go Jazz.

Last Snow?

Well, that last cold front gave us some snow. It melted by the afternoon, but the boys of course had to go out and play in it. So at 8:30 in the morning we put on our snow gear and headed outside. Tyler discovered the water running down the gutter and of course had fun splashing in it. It took at least 3 days to dry out his boots. I don't mind the late snow, as long as it melts quickly.

Christopher Update

Well, Christopher is 3 months now (on the 4th) I took him into the Dr.'s on the 12th and he weighed 16 1/2 lbs. (95% ile) He's nice big baby with three leg rolls and chubby arms and cheeks.

I gave him another hair cut, now I almost wish I hadn't. I miss his hair. It really was getting very messy and sticking straight up for 4 inches, but I still miss it. Oh well, it will grow.

I've put him in our little bouncy/jumpy thing a couple of times. He still needs to learn how to jump in it, but it's a different location and keeps him happy for a while.

I found Chris sucking his thumb after a nap once, too cute.

More Easter

Saturday afternoon we dyed Easter Eggs. I had bought a little kit and that made it a lot easier for me. They had these plastic containers that held the eggs well and some fun face stickers. They boys thought it was fun and they didn't make a mess either. I made a potato salad later to use up some of the eggs. (They're all for me, since no one else likes hard boiled eggs)

Sunday morning the boys found their Easter baskets. We give them some candy and a small toy and a Churchy something. This year they got a car and a small Mr. Potato Head and they both got a book and a Greg Olsen picture puzzle.

I spent the morning working on our Easter dinner. I wanted to make a nice meal, and I really wanted to invite someone over to enjoy it with us, but no luck. So we had ham (the first one I've made, I'm glad I bought the kind that was already cooked) twice-baked potatoes, asparagus soup, carrots, strawberry green salad, rolls, and a 5 layer jello - in the picture you can see the egg shaped ones, it's kind of too dark to see the different layers. And we had a half banana, half pineapple cream pie and banana slush for dessert. It tasted good to me and no more cooking for the rest of the day. ( sorry the picture's sideways) - Happy Easter

Easter Egg Hunts

On Saturday we went to the Dinosaur Museum for their Easter Egg Hunt. I'm so glad we went here instead of the city one. It's always windy in Vernal around this time and usually cold - so we were grateful to be inside. Another plus is that the kids are just looking for plastic eggs and then they turn them in to receive two prizes (no candy). The kids would probably rather have the candy, but they don't have the final say right now. So it was great, we were home by 9:15 to do some cleaning then listen to conference. The boys were being pretty rowdy so we didn't get to listen all that well, but we try.

ON Sunday was had our own Easter Egg hunt in our backyard. This time the eggs had candy in them. Of course Tyler emptied his as fast as he could find them :)

Easter fun

So before Easter came (and most of our friends went out of town) - I wanted to get together and do some fun things. So on Thursday my friend Lori came over with her two girls and 4 month old and we had a movie party. The kids watched Scooby-Doo in our bedroom and Lori and I with the babes watched New Moon. It was a fun break from the average day.

Then on Friday my friend Shelby and her two girls came over and we decorated cookies. Damon discovered how fun it was to squeeze the decorating bags into a big messy pile on the cookies. Tyler liked to pick up the sprinkles and place them on the cookies.

Thanks friends for giving us something to do.
