Kindergarten Graduation

Well, Damon is now an official Kindergarten Graduate. They had a fun patriotic program and sang some cute songs. They all had a short speaking part, Damon did very well. This is his best friend in his class: Riley Smith, then a shot with his teacher Mrs. Cundall. Damon had a great year at school and now he's ready for first grade. :)

Mostly Chris Pictures

Christopher is getting to be a lot of fun. He is starting to make animal sounds and has a word for cracker now along with dog. He loves to be outside and pulls great fits when Damon and Tyler go out and he doesn't get to. He likes to do whatever his brothers are doing. Lately he has taken to this Panda bear and sleeps with it and takes it with him when he wakes up in the morning.

Yard Sale

This is the Lego set that Tyler got for his birthday.
These are the finds that I got at some yard sales on Saturday.
2 bar stools, 2 Harry Potter DVDs, 4 little toys (the boys used their own money), a cute flower decoration, a Bumble Bee costume and the best find: The Millennium Falcon space ship from Star Wars. The boys fought over this all day too. It was just perfect to go along with their birthdays. It opens up and makes sounds. The boys love it.

Tyler's Birthday

Happy Birthday Tyler! 4 years oldGrandma Petersen sent a cool cheetah postcard from their mission in South Africa. They also sent some money with which we bought Tyler a small size basketball for outside.
In the morning we had Tyler open just a few presents, clothes, a photo book, and a small R2D2 figure - which the boys fought over all day.

In the evening we gave Tyler the rest of his presents:
Opening the Remote Control Truck - from Grandma Datwyler.
Opening the Star Wars Lego set! We also gave him the DVD How to Train Your Dragon.
Trying out the remote control. He did pretty well. The truck's motor isn't the most powerful - but it's fine for his first one.
Singing Happy Birthday
Make a wish! I was glad Tyler wanted something simple for his cake. This is a Wild Kratts design. I also helped him decide on a new cupcake recipe I wanted to try: Strawberry Lemonade. They were good, but I'll make some adjustments if I make them again. Tyler didn't like them so I felt bad about that. But he enjoyed the ice cream.
Happy Birthday Tyler, we love you!
About Tyler:
  • He love to play video games, the Wii, and watch TV, I really have to monitor him so he doesn't do too much.
  • He likes bread with honey for a staple meal
  • He likes making faces at Christopher
  • He is pretty tall for his age
  • He loves to tackle and wrestle with Damon and Dad
  • He has learned a lot from Damon this year and can already count to 100
  • He is a good singer and his favorite Primary song is One in a Million (a new one from the Friend).

Necklace Project

I've wanted a jewelry box that I could hang my necklaces up in for awhile, but then I realized that it might be easier to just hang them on the wall or something. So I went to the DI and got a frame that was the exact size I needed (so lucky) then I painted it and put in a mirror that I've had laying around since College. Then Doug helped me drill some holes to put in the hooks. Voila! I think it looks great and maybe I'll wear my necklaces more now that I remember what ones I have.

Lost another Tooth

Damon lost his second tooth last night (May 11th). He was pretty excited about it. He asked the Tooth Fairy if he could keep his tooth this time. We put it in a small jewelry box.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's day yesterday. Doug planned ahead and got so many things ready for me. He bought the stuff to make juice and muffins in the morning and hamburgers for dinner. He grilled those for us too so that was really nice. He had the boys make me a card while I was gone and had ordered these gorgeous flowers for me. He really put some thought into Mother's Day this year - thanks Doug.

My mom sent some cook books - thanks mom. I'm trying out two new recipes this week.
Damon took this picture in the morning - I had to do some cropping, but it looks nice. Doug gave me the Willow Tree statue too, I picked it out.
Damon made some things at school too.

Eat Cake

We did a book group for the book: Eat Cake. If you haven't read the book you should. So I made the Pear Upside-down Gingerbread cake from the recipes in the back. It was really good.

Heather's Wedding

So this past weekend my cousin Heather got married and I was able to do her wedding cake. It was a long day. Christopher and I left at 8:15 and I dropped him off at my sister-in-law's in SLC at 11:00. Then I made it to the reception/dinner place at 12:00 and got about 1 hour of decorating done. Then it was time to go to the sealing at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. It took a bit longer than some weddings, we were waiting on some family, and the sealer gave them lots of advice :). Anyway, I left right after they came out so I could go finish the cake. I decorated from about 3:30 - 5:30 - and the dinner was planned to start at 6:00, kind of a little too close for me. I should have left sooner - but driving just took longer than I had thought. It was a beautiful wedding and the dinner and everything was so nice. I drove back to SLC and spent the night with Eric and Dori. I was so glad I didn't have to drive home late at night.

Anyway, it was a great day. I'm so grateful for Dori for watching Christopher. Doug had Damon and Tyler for their Father's and Son's campout. They had a good time - it was a long night for Doug, but they had a blast with the other boys and built some air pressure rockets.

Pitures for the end of April

Here's some more pictures.
Chris eating an ice cream sandwich.
A big hailstorm
The boys washed the sliding door, there were some fingerprints still on it when they were done :)
Damon and Tyler like to paint, so we paint these rocks over and over again.

What the boys did over Easter Weekend

So while Doug and I were in SLC my parents watched the boys for most of the weekend. Mom kept them busy doing lots of fun things:

Grandma is always ready to read a story.Building towers

Hiking up the the First Pyramid in Smithfield and looking through binoculars.
Playing at the park.

Coloring Easter Eggs with markers.
Rolling the eggs down Old Main Hill.
Easter Egg hunt at grandma and grandpa's house.
Playing with remote control cars.
City Easter Egg Hunt.
